Jones explained that the allocated funds will cover various examination fees, ensuring that no eligible student is left behind. The breakdown of the funds includes:
N145,476,984 for 25,100 pupils for Basic Six and Common Entrance Examination (CCE).
N215,220,000 for 30,500 students under the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
N181,719,800 for 18,734 students to cover UTME/JAMB registration fees.
Jones highlighted that this move aligns with the law mandating free examination registration for students in public schools, a policy initiated by former Governor Yahaya Bello.
He further noted that the state government had also released N661.3 million to cover the 2024/2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) fees for Senior Secondary School Three (SS3) students in public schools.
