The National Examinations Council (NECO) has taken a bold step towards extending its global footprint by accrediting more foreign schools to administer its Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
This development was disclosed in a press statement issued by Malam Azeez Sani, the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations at NECO Headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
The statement, released on Saturday, highlighted that the newly accredited schools are located in Niger Republic and Equatorial Guinea, adding to NECO’s expanding international presence.
According to the statement, NECO’s Accreditation Team conducted thorough inspections of the schools to ensure their readiness to host the examinations.
“The accreditation team inspected classrooms, laboratories, libraries, computer laboratories, workshops, examination halls, and sports facilities to determine their adequacy and suitability for NECO examinations,” Malam Sani explained.
This meticulous process underscores NECO’s commitment to upholding its high standards of examination delivery and ensuring that the accredited schools are well-equipped to provide a conducive learning and testing environment.
