FG Begins Payment of NYSC 77 Thousand Naira Allowances
FG Begins Payment of NYSC 77 Thousand Naira Allowances – Details are as follows:
The Federal Government has finally started paying the long-awaited N77,000 monthly allowance to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.
This exciting news, announced on March 26, 2025, by the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, brings relief to thousands of corps members across the country.
After months of delays and promises, the new allowance replaces the old N33,000 stipend, marking a significant increase aimed at improving the welfare of young Nigerians serving their nation.
Brigadier General Nafiu shared this update while speaking to corps members at the Wuse and Garki NYSC zonal offices in Abuja.
He assured them that the NYSC and the government care about their well-being.
“Starting from March 26th, you’ll get N77,000 as your monthly allowance.
We keep good records, and I promise you’ll get your money.
The nation appreciates your service,” he said.
His words have sparked hope among corps members who’ve been struggling with the rising cost of living in Nigeria.
NYSC is set to spend a whopping N307.6 billion on allowances in 2025.
Here’s how it works: every year, the NYSC mobilises about 333,000 corps members in three batches—Batch A, B, and C.
With each person now getting N77,000 monthly, that adds up fast.
For one batch of around 55,500 corps members, the cost is N25.64 billion.
Multiply that by three batches, and you get the massive figure of N307.6 billion.
It’s clear the FG is investing heavily in its youth through this scheme and JAMB UTME.
