NELFUND Opens 2025 Tinubu Student Loan Portal

The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has opened the 2025 Tinubu Student Loan Portal, allowing eligible Nigerian students to apply for financial assistance to support their education.

This initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring that no Nigerian student is deprived of higher education due to financial constraints.

How to Apply for Tinubu Student Loan 2025/2026

Interested students can follow these steps to apply for FG student loan:

1. Visit the Official NELFUND Portal: Navigate to the official website via www.nelfund.gov.ng.
2. Create an Account: Use your JAMB registration number, National Identification Number (NIN), and valid email to sign up.
3. Fill in the Required Information: Complete the application form by providing personal details, academic records, and financial background.
4. Upload Necessary Documents: Ensure you submit all required documents, including admission letters and proof of financial need.
5. Submit Application: After completing the form, carefully review the details before submitting it.
6. Await Confirmation: Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email and further instructions on loan disbursement.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Tinubu Student Loan, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a Nigerian citizen currently enrolled in a recognised tertiary institution.
• Have valid admission proof from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrate financial need as outlined by NELFUND.
• Have a clean record with no history of loan defaulting.

Loan Coverage and Repayment

The student loan will cover tuition fees, accommodation, and other essential academic expenses.

Repayment will commence two years after the beneficiary completes their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

Speaking on the initiative, the Managing Director of NELFUND, Mr. Akintunde Sawyer, emphasised that the student loan scheme is designed to empower Nigerian youths and enhance the accessibility of tertiary education.

He assured applicants that the process is transparent and free of charge.

Deadline for Tinubu Student Loan Application 2025

The deadline for Tinubu student loan 2025 is 6th March 2026.

Prospective beneficiaries are advised to complete their applications on the NELFUND portal before the deadline,.
