This prize allows Nigerian writers to share their unpublished short stories with a global audience and compete for cash rewards.
With a top prize of £5,000 and regional prizes of £2,500, this prestigious literary award is an opportunity not to be missed.
To be eligible for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize, you must be;
- Citizens of Commonwealth countries (including Nigeria)
- 18 years or older by 1st November 2024
- Unpublished short fiction (remain unpublished until 1st May 2025)

- Submit your story through the official Commonwealth Short Story Prize entry form via www.commonwealthfoundation.com/submit-to-the-prize/
- Ensure all entries are sent by 1st November 2024 at 11:59 pm in any time zone
Prizes:
- Overall Winner: £5,000
- Regional Winners: £2,500 each
- Publication in Granta, a respected literary magazine
